Fourth and Fifth Grade Chorus

The 2005-2006 Aversboro 4th and 5th Grade Honors Chorus.
Students in fourth and fifth grade are invited to join the Performance Chorus at the beginning of the school year. The Performance Chorus presents the Fall Concert and the Winter Concert. Chorus students who would like the challenge of more advanced singing and additional perfomance opportunities are invited to audition for Honors Chorus, which performs for the Spring Concert, for Fifth Grade Graduation, and for the Garner area school's presentation of "STARS ON STAGE".

Students who join chorus write a paragraph entitled "Why I Would Make a Good Chorus Student". Enjoy these excerpts from their paragraphs and some behind-the-scenes pictures!
This is a sample of a chorus paragraph with illustrations.

A chorus student holds up a Spring Concert program.
"I would be a good chorus student because I like music and love to sing. I like the thought of being in a group. I will try my hardest and behave. I will give 100% of my attention."

"I would make a good chorus student because I love to sing. I sing often in my church choir and with my family. I have been a star student since school began. I will do my best to sing and listen in chorus, and work hard. I really look forward to becoming a member."
Chorus students wait in their classroom before the Spring Concert.

Mrs. Tippette and Ms. Laquidara assist chorus students with bows and sashes.
"I would make a good chorus member because I like being on a team. I love music and especially like to sing. I also really want to learn more about music. I would be a good chorus team member because I always work hard, try my best, and am responsible."

"I think I would be a good chorus member because most of all, I like to sing. My relatives would be really proud of me. I have a great head voice. That is why I would be a wonderful member of the Fourth and Fifth Grade Chorus."
Mrs. Tompkins ties a chorus student's sash before a performance.

Two chorus students enjoy the special time after a concert.
"I enjoy singing. I also love music. I think music makes people happy. It makes me feel good."

"I want to be in the chorus because I think it is a good opportunity for me to sing in front of lots and lots of people, which has always been my dream."
Chorus students relax together after a concert.
